The Becker Bulldog girls soccer team dropped two of three games this past week.
Becker 1, Willmar 0
On Sept. 24, the Lady Bulldogs soccer team hosted the Willmar Cardinals and the Bulldogs captured the win by a score of 1-0.
Senior Rachel Fuller had 17 saves in the win.Sophomore Abby Atwood had 17 clearances and sophomore Charlie Ebert had 14 interceptions.
The lone goal was scored by Liz Mackedanz, assisted by Olivia Derricks.
“We had our chances against Watertown Mayer and we couldn’t put them away - we played well overall,” said Head Coach Ben Strom.
Chisago Lakes 2, Becker 0
On Sept. 26, Becker suffered a shutout loss to Chisago Lakes on the road, 2-0.
Fuller kept the girls in the game with 17 saves and Atwood had 18 clearances.
Sophmore Morgan Vee led the team with nine interceptions.
“We fought through many injuries and the girls played well with a lot of heart,” said Strom.
C-I 3, Becker 0
Three days later, the Bulldogs were once again shutout, this time at the hands and feet of Cambridge-Isanti on the road.
Sophomore Charlie Ebert tallied 10 interceptions and Atwood had 18 clearances in the loss.Fuller had 19 saves.
“We couldn’t seem to get our bearings this game,” said Strom. “We played a little better in the second half but overall not our best game.”
