Mounted Patrols are essential servants

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol, made up entirely of volunteers, is often most visible to county residents while participating in parades and duties at the Sherburne County Fair. Mounted Patrol members and their horses undergo a rigorous certification process, including a certification course, and training annually.

Advantages

Patrolling on horseback allows for an advantageous perspective, which is increasingly valuable when assisting with search and rescue operations and other instances involving large crowds.

Equipment

Members of the unit each provide their own horse and trailer and agree to be available as needed.
