Six Becker youth wrestlers placed in the MYAS Wrestling Tour Buffalo Nationals tournament in Brookings, SD, Dec. 16-17.
Second grader Blayne Kuschel placed second in the first-second grade, 60-lb category. Fifth grader Kaden Nicolas placed second in the fifth-sixth grade, 74-lb. bracket. Sixth grader Kaden Rish placed second in the fifth-sixth grade, 90-lb. bracket.
Fifth grader Lance Lysdal placed fourth in the fifth-sixth grade, heavyweight bracket. Fifth grader Cash Stortz placed sixth in the fifth-sixth grade, 78-lb. bracket. Eighth grader Bryce Kuschel placed third in the seventh-eighth grade, 140-lb. bracket.
The Becker youth wrestling travel team placed second in the 2017 Wayzata Team Tournament Dec. 17 — losing to the defending state champion Wayzata team, 36-30.
The team beat Stillwater, Scott West and Prior Lake to advance to the championship match.
The Bulldogs are coached by Luke Fox, Tim Kujawa and Matt Kuschel.
