Outside the Becker Fieldhouse, parking was at a premium. Inside, tables buzzed with people attending the 2026 Becker Business Expo & Craft Fair on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Attendees were immediately greeted by a delegation from the Becker Chamber of Commerce, which hosted the event. Chamber Director Amy Stanger explained that 86 vendors had signed up for the event. She expected between 700 to 1,000 people would attend the event, which ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Something for Everyone
Event postings promised something for everyone. Games, concessions, and facepainting were provided by local youth organizations National Honor Society, DECA, and Girl Scout Troop 281.
Entertainment was scheduled every half hour. There were dance performances by Starz Dance Studio and Dance Caravan of Otsego, and demonstrations by Young American Self Defense, Canine Cabin Agility, and Becker Robotics.
Prizes and giveaways could be seen throughout the Fieldhouse by various vendors, but the Chambers raffle at 1:45 p.m. may have been the largest. Gift baskets donated by Chamber members contained pasta, wine, beauty supplies, coffee, and pretzels and snacks.
Businesses providing services for Becker residents’ every need lined the floor, from banking to real estate to construction, window replacement, and gutter cleaning; they were available to answer questions. Local churches introduced themselves, and crafters sold their goods: knitted hats and mittens, handmade jewelry, soaps, bath and laundry products, BBQ sauce, and cookies.
Officials from Becker Public Schools, including Superintendent Jeremy Schmidt, were present, along with staff from the Sherburne County History Center.
It seemed as if everyone had decided it was finally warm enough to go out and be with other people again. At the Becker Business Expo & Craft Fair, they did not have to look too far to find something to enjoy.
