The Becker Bulldog wrestling team went 2-1 this week in their first three matches of the 2016-17 season.

 

Becker 54, St. Cloud Apollo 21

Last Friday, Becker traveled to St. Cloud Apollo to take on the Eagles and the Monticello Magic in a dual meet.

 

Becker won the first eight matches, seven by fall before the Eagles went on a run of five wins (including two forfeits). The Bulldogs capped off the match with another pin in the heavyweight division.

Becker 61, Monticello 18

In the second match of the meet, Becker got forfeits in the first four matches to go up 24-0 before anyone squared off. After a win and a loss at 132-lbs. and 138-lbs., the Bulldogs rattled off four wins in a row — all pins ‚ to go up 52-6 with just three matches to go and the outcome all but spelled out.
