Mayor Kolbinger holds roundtable event for Industrial Park

Last week, Becker Mayor Mark Kolbinger organized a roundtable event at Pebble Creek to unite and facilitate better relations with businesses in the industrial park and the city.

The event featured a meet and greet half hour where refreshments were served. A buffet meal of meatballs, fruit, snacks and coffee was part of the proceedings.

At 2 p.m., Kolbinger delivered a welcome speech to the area business owners and outlined his goal to improve connections and partnerships.

Several companies and their employees gave speeches to the IP businesses and thanked them for their business as well as offered their services to the companies for the future. Employees of Sherbunre State Bank talked about sponsorship recognition while the Becker Robotics team explained who they are and how important partnerships with major IP businesses have made their existence and successes materialize.

Bill Morgan of the Patriot Newspaper gave an informational speech to the IP companies in how the media can help grow their business through advertising and promotion opportunities. Phil Knutson, Jacob Sanders and others from the City of Becker spoke about improving the relationships formed in the past and providing resolute support moving forward.

Kolbinger handed out a questionnaire that asked those in attendance, “What is the city doing well?”, “What could they improve on?”, What types of assistance is needed?” and “How frequently do the businesses interact with the City of Becker?” The business owners and employees then had discussions at their tables and shared the results following a 15 minute break.

Kolbinger then passed the microphone to the tables for the individuals to share who they were and what projects they may be working on and what needs are being sought.

This event was one of many erstwhile events with others being planned as the Becker Mayor continues to reach out to the community to hear their concerns.
