With the fall activity season winding to a close, winter sports teams and activities have started up with first competitions starting in less than two weeks.
Matt Aho was supervising a captain practice Wednesday with his squad startling official practices early next week. Their first match is Dec. 1 at Monticello.
Dan Baird and his coaching staff are quickly getting his girls ready for the upcoming girls basketball season. Their first game is home against Hopkins, Nov. 28.
Many youth boys basketball players were busy using the fieldhouse courts to get in some practice time this week. Varsity Head Coach Josh Ihrke’s team is scheduled to kick off the 2017-18 season Dec. 5 at Waconia.
Jen Harmoning and her coaches are working tirelessly to get their young squad in tip-top shape. They are holding practices daily and their first meet is Dec. 5 at home against Sauk Rapids-Rice.
Julie Baloun and Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen continue to work with the Dazzlers to get them ready for the upcoming season which starts Jan. 6 at Alexandria.
Alex Jurek continues to fine tune his robotics team as they get set to hopefully compete locally, state-wide and nationally as they have done in the past.
The Becker/Big Lake hockey team, coached by Doug Friedrichs, returns to the ice and their first game of the new season is today (Saturday) in Princeton against Bagley/Fosston.
