Volleyball Team Splits With Little Falls, Albany

The Becker Bulldog girls volleyball team went 1-1 in two matches this week to improve to 9-6.
 
Becker 3, Little Falls 0
 
Thursday, Becker hosted Little Falls and beat them in three, hard fought sets.  
 
“We brought more energy and were much more aggressive on offense,” said head Coach Taylor Essen. “It was much needed momentum going into a tough stretch next week.”
 
Becker has matches next Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
 
Thursday’s scores were 25-23, 25-21 and 25-20.
 
Sam Haugen had eight kills and six and a half blocked shots. Sam Angell had nine kills, 14 digs and four aces. Kalie Jergens and Brynn Barthel had five kills each,  Alexa Hanowski had 15 digs and one ace and Whitney Raygor had 21 assists and two aces.
 
Albany 3, Becker 1
 
Tuesday, Becker traveled to  Albany and played shorthanded with a handful of players sick. 
 
“We started very flat, but eventually picked up the energy,” said Essen. “But we just made too many errors down the stretch.”
 
Tuesday’s scores were 25-9, 25-23, 19-25 and 25-17.
 
Haugen had six kills, five blocks and one ace. Angell had nine kills, 12 digs and three aces. Megan Albertson had four kills and two blocks.
 
Raygor and Sydney Busch combined for 21 assists and Hanowski had 30 digs and one ace.
