Becker lost the first match, 25-23 to Zimmerman Tuesday and struggled in the second set to fall to 0-2 (25-19) heading into the third match. Kristina Sloan’s girls dug deep and played an excellent third round match, beating the Thunder, 25-15 to bring it to 2-1.

Albany 3, Becker 0
Becker took a loss Thursday night on the road against the Huskies.
“We knew they were going to be a tough team to beat,” said Head Coach Kristina Sloan. “Winning the conference last year and only losing one senior, they have a great offensive team.”
Sloan said her team prepared earlier this week, running a lot of defensive drills.
“Although I don’t think we played badly, we just couldn’t get past their defense to put the ball down,” she said.
The scores were 25-18, 25-15 and 25-19.
Barthel had five kills, six blocked shots and was 5-7 in serves with four aces. Garding had eight kills and three blocks. Anderson tallied three kills and four blocks. Amundson had five kills and three blocked shots.
Baumgartner was 5-7 in serving and had 11 digs. Zoller was 5-6 at the line with one ace.
