Eight competitors from Vision Taekwondo of Becker recently participated in a regional tournament in Boscobel, WI and won an amazing 21 medals.
Each entrant placed in the top three in every event they entered. This qualifies each one of them to participate in the UTA Nationals in Bossier City, LA July 9.
Since the students did so well in the regions, the school has received an invitation for their entire studio to participate. The participants are now frantically in a race with time to raise the funds to send as many as possible.
One of the fundraising ideas is called, “Flush a Friend” where a “ninja” places a full size pink toilet on the lawn of a friend with a sign that says, “$10 removal, $15 send to a friend, $5 anonymity and $25 potty insurance.”
The sign explains the purpose of the toilet and the goal the students are trying to reach. Many of the kids and their families are planning yard sales and selling baked goods.
Vision Taekwondo started less than two years ago as a small class for a handful of students from homeschool families in the area. It has since tripled in size and claimed business status. Classes meet at the American Legion building (the old fire hall) on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Military discounts available as well as other scholarships. Classes are offered for ages 3-Adult.
Anyone interested in classes may attend a free workout session to get the experience.
