Track Teams Compete At Home On Cold, Windy Day

The Becker Bulldogs  boys and girls track teams hosted the last chance meet in Becker Tuesday with three area teams.

Boys Track

Foley came out on top in this meet with 92 points and Zimmerman was second with 74.5.  Becker took third with 69 and Little Falls was fourth with 14.5.

In this meet, Becker’s athletes have one last chance to get a good time, go for a record or try another event before they enter sections next week.  With the weather being cold and windy, many of the athletes found it difficult to better any of their times.

The Bulldogs did get winning performances from David Myres in both the 110M and 300M hurdles with Michael Schmitz taking second in the 110 meters.

Becker's 4x800M team of Parker Lahr, Basil Ricker, Jake Nelson and Tyson Ricker placed first and so did the 4x200M team of Kevin Andres, Jack Belde, Conor Eichhoff and Jordan Gruenes.

The 200 meter dash was won by Andres with a top time of the year at 22.77. Gruenes won the 800M with a time of 2:08.97.  The boys 4x400M relay team of Myres, Gruenes, Belde and Andres also took home first place in a close race, winning with a time of 3:40.9.

Basil Ricker placed third in the 800M and Lukas Karel placed fourth in the 1600M.  Belde took home a second place finish in the high jump with a leap of 5'8" and third in the long jump with a leap of 18'7.5".
