The Becker Bulldog boys tennis team traveled to Sartell Monday and — due to weather situations — had to play their matches indoors.
The Bulldogs prevailed by a score of 5-2.
“They are a section opponent that always has great numbers and quality players,” said Head Coach Hokan Bengtson. “Our singles players continued to show their skills winning all four matches in straight sets.”
Winning for Becker were Jackson Lefebvre at #1 singles over Austin Sura, 6-1, 6-1; Brandon Roemer at #2 singles over Eric Minnerath, 6-2, 6-0; Tyler Lindquist at #3 singles over Yash Hindka, 6-4, 6-1 and Brady Gruenhagen at #4 singles over Edward Hamilton, 6-1, 6-1.
“I was also impressed with the play of our #2 doubles team of Lucas Dertinger and Johnny Crocker,” said Bengtson. “They set up points well and are really finishing strong.”
Dertinger and Crocker beat Tommy Pinkerton and Lawton Miller, 6-1, 6-2. The #1 doubles team of CJ Howard and Jacob Lukkarila lost to Trevor Erickson and Kyle Harthan, 6-4, 7-5 and Isaac Popp and Caleb Quernemoen lost to Thomas Connolly and Max Fesenmaier at #3 doubles by a score of 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
