BECKER’S #2 DOUBLES TEAM OF ALLY KANGAS AND PAYTON BERNSTROM lost their match in three sets to Tori Fleishacker and Megan Langer of Pierz Tuesday evening on Becker’s home court.

Tennis Team Goes 3 3 In Six Matches

The Becker Bulldog girls tennis team went 3-3 in six matches this past week to raise their season record to 8-9.
 
Becker traveled to Buffalo to play a three-game match against Buffalo, Mound-Westonka and Waseca last weekend.
 
Buffalo 4, Becker 3
The Bulldogs got wins from Anna Ritchie at #2 singles, Ally Kangas and Courtney Nuest at #2 doubles, Emily Kotten and Alayna Lindquist at #3 doubles and Laura Niday and Nicole Knudsen at #4 doubles.
 
Ritchie won her match, 7-5, 6-3 over Ella Stevens.
 
Kangas and Nuest beat Buffalo’s Gina Miller and Hillary Hovland, 6-2, 6-4. Kotten and Lindquist knocked off Cassie McNitt and Nicole McHenry, 6-3, 6-1. Niday and Knudsen went to three sets, but beat Molly Jungwirth and Lydia Peterson, 6-0, 6-6, 7-3.
 
Becker 5, Waseca 2
The Bulldogs got wins from Ritchie at #2 singles, Blair Pappenfus at #3 singles, Julia Bengtson at #4 singles, Kangas and Nuest at #2 doubles and Kotten and Lindquist at #3 doubles.
 
Ritchie beat her opponent (not identified) by a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (10-3) score. Pappenfus beat her opponent, 7-5, 6-4 and Bengtson won her match, 6-1, 6-1.
 
Kangas and Nuest won their match, 6-1, 7-5 and Kotten and Lindquist theirs by a score of 6-0, 6-2.
 
Mound-Westonka 4, Becker 3
The Bulldogs only got wins from their doubles teams as Megan Nelson and Payton Bernstrom won at #1 doubles by a score of 7-6, (7-4), 6-0. Kangas and Nuest won at #2 doubles by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
 
Kotten and Lindquist survived their match at #3 doubles by beating their opponents, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (10-6).
 
Becker 6, Mora 1
Becker got wins from three of the four singles players and all three doubles teams Monday in Mora.
 
Taylor Pawlicki beat Taylor Neil at #1 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Pappenfus beat Ann Marie Oberhausen, 6-0, 6-3 at #3 singles. Nuest beat Grace Harmon, 6-1, 6-2 at #4 singles.
 
Nelson and Hannah Bengtson beat Theja Ingebrand and Jordan Harning, 6-1, 6-1 at #1 doubles. Kangas and Bernstrom beat Kelsey Reynolds and Ada Krueger, 6-2, 6-2 at #2 doubles. Kotten and Lindquist beat Tori Dion and Valerie Horning, 6-1, 6-0 at #3 doubles.
 
Becker 5, Pierz 2
Becker hosted Pierz Tuesday afternoon and came away with a big win.
 
Pawlicki easily took care of Rebecca Langer at #1 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Pappenfus beat Kailyn Gritzmacher at #3 singles, 6-0, 7-5. Nuest beat Abby Andrea at #4 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-4.
 
Nelson and Hannah Bengtson dispatched of Brittney Boser and Hannah Andrea at #1 doubles by a score of 6-2, 6-4. Kotten and Lindquist got the other big win at #3 doubles by beating Avy Lease and Anlessa Leidnefrost by a 6-4, 6-1 score.
 
Pine City 6, Becker 1
Nuest was the only Bulldog tennis player to come out victorious Thursday evening on the road. She beat her opponent (not identified) by a 6-3, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1 score.
 
Pawlicki lost 0-6, 0-6 at #1 singles. Ritchie lost 0-6, 0-6 at #2 singles and Pappenfus lost 4-6, 6-4, 2-6 at #3 singles.
 
The duo of Nelson and Hannah Bengtson lost 6-2, 4-6, 4-6 at #1 doubles. Kangas and Bernstrom lost 6-7 (4-7), 6-7 (4-7) at #2 doubles and Kotten and Lindquist lost 2-6, 6-2, 4-6 at #3 doubles.
