We are the Sherburne County Swampbucks MDHA and we are a Minnesota conservation group that has been around for more than 35 years. Sherburne County Swampbucks are having their annual Membership Banquet March 30. Our chapter is 13 years old.
Our Chapter has many members who have been around for 35+ years, and also many new members. Most members live or and work or have a connection with the Sherburne County area. Our chapter was started with Youth Education and Outdoors being our goal. Our banquet will be held again this year at the Friendly Buffalo in Big Lake, March 30 at 5 p.m. We can seat around 200 people and always have a full house. About one third of our crowd is youth, we call them FORKHORNS. A Forkhorn is a boy or girl age 1 to/and including age 17. And no it is not all boys, it is about fifty-fifty!
Each FORKHORN gets into a special FORKHORN raffle just for being there, no cost to them or their parents. This is a CHOICE raffle. Great free gifts for each FORKHORN. Choices include: Bows and Arrows, BB Guns, .22 Rifles, Air Rifles, Rods and reels, MDHA logo items and more.
Help as a volunteer or donations of time and/or donation of money. If you have a hunting related item, great! If not hunting related, don't think we can’t use it! Folding Chairs, Shirts, Hats, bags, with or without your company Logo! And don't forget. we have women, kids and of course always lots of men! We always have our popular “Ladies Raffle” where anyone can buy a ticket, and first choice is usually THE GUN that is always on this raffle.
We have All Gun Raffle, Art Raffle, Silent Auction, and more! Door Prizes, Early Bird Raffle, Food Shelf Donation Raffle (alternately giving to both Elk River and Big Lake Food Shelves). And if your prefer a cash donation, we do the shopping! A great rdea is a basket: this could be full of items to promote YOUR BUSINESS!
Coffee cups, coasters, and more... all with your company label! Help us to help you promote your business! Gift Certificates are always welcome... and the list goes on!
We know not everyone can attend, but we want YOU to know about US, our mission, and goals, and we would like to learn about you also! Our banquet program will list the donors, at all levels and we always have large poster with all donors names. We will encourage people to shop our donors and say, “THANK YOU” to you when they do!
