The Becker/Big Lake Squirt C hockey team won the District 10 Hockey Consolation Championship Saturday in Anoka.
The Squirts lost their opening game in the district playoffs to Rum River, 2-1, Feb. 13. In their second game, they trounced Champlin Park, 6-1, moving on to their next opponent.
In their third game of the tournament, the Squirts beat Centennial, 6-1 and secured a spot in the consolation championship game against the same Rum River team they had lost to in their first contest. Falling behind 4-1, the Squirts responded in a big way and eked out a 6-5 victory over the Rum River team to take the consolation championship from District 10.
The Becker/Big Lake Squirt team consists of: Jaci Heitkamp, Andrew Holm, Charley Hill, Logan Ahlbrecht, Sydnie Loftus, Emma Fredericks, Gracie Tobako, Dalton Lear, Will Johnson, Blayne Varner, Ava Prosser, Ava Holm, Amado Espinosa and Student Coach Izzy Loftus.
The team is coached by Tony Loftus and his assistants are Steve Prosser and Mark Fredericks.
