The Becker Bulldog girls softball team’s games this week were cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather.
Friday, they traveled to Buffalo to take on the Bison and next week, they will be cramming as many games into the available days as they can to try and get their schedule back to normal.
Tuesday, Becker will in Milaca and then host Mora for their home opener Thursday at 5 p.m. Saturday, they will be hosting their annual Becker tournament.
“It should be a great day of softball with eight really good teams,” said Head Coach jason Baune.
In the bracketed tournament, Becker will play games are at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. A few of the stronger teams coming to Becker that weekend are Anoka, who finished second in state last year and are currently ranked #1 in Class AAAA.
Rocori is undefeated this year and ranked #9 in Class AAA.
New Ulm, who finished fourth at state last year.
Superior, WI, has only one loss on the season and is considered one of the better teams in their state.
Baune’s Becker team finished in fourth place at state last year and is currently ranked #2 in Class AAA.
Trophies will be handed out to the tournament champion and the second, third and consolation champs. Eleven members of the teams will be selected as an all-tournament team by the coaches.
Admission is free and concessions will be available all day.
