The Becker High School Robotics team received a tremendous donation from Vista Outdoors/Federal Cartridge Thursday afternoon.
The donation, a tooling machine, arrived on a long semi-truck and is said to be valued at well over $25,000. Head Coach Alex Jurek said, “Not only are they donating the machine, they are also donating all of the tooling for the machine and transportation of the mill.”
The semi-truck was accompanied by another truck that transported the forklift to get the machine off the truck and into the school.
“The total cost of this type of donation exceeds $40,000,” said Jurek.
He said this donation is in direct relation to the partnerships that the robotics team has made over the last number of years.
“There is no way that we make this connection if we were a stand-alone manufacturing shop in Becker High School,” he said.
Vista Outdoors/Federal Cartridge also recently donated a three-wheel band saw that is valued at $6,000. This is on top of numerous donations from other partners in the Becker community including Veit USA, Vonco USA, Darter Plastics, LPI and Xcel Energy (Sherco).
