Blake Paulson wrestled his way to an individual title at 145 pounds to lead the Bulldog team at the annual BBE Tournament last Friday.
Paulson, took down three opponents to claim the title, including his Becker teammate,Jacob Berning, in the title match, on a forfeit. Earlier, he had beaten Taiton Linder, BBE2-1 and Luke Hoefer, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sundberg by fall in the semifinals at 1:45.
Berning was one of three Becker wrestlers to claim second place finishes. He beat Peyton Linn, Albany, via fall at 3:12 in the first round, then defeated Austin Kloos of Minn. 5-0 in the semifinals.
Another second place winner was Lukas Paulson at 120 pounds. He beat Ben Shumann, BBE, via pinfal at 1:39, then Ramzee Molinaro of Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City by a 7-3 decision in the semifinals.
Third wrestler to claim second place was Nick Radunz, at 285. He beat Jonathon Rehm, ACGC, via fall at 1:50, then decisioned Devin Lange, LBW, by 7-3 in the semifinals.
Third place winner was Kevin Andrews, at 138. He beat Ted Sacey, LBW, by 13-6, then lost in the semis. He doubled back to beat Riley Thorn, LBW, by a bye in the wrestlebacks, then pinned Blake Reiss, Minn. vby fall at 4:01 for third place.
Logan Jurek finished fifth at 152, first beating Thomas Pesta, LBW, by 4-3. He then lost in the semifinals before getting two byes back to a meeting with Caleb Collins, MMS, where he lost by a 7-0 decision.
