EX-BULLDOG SUPER ATHLETE, MILAN KENT was recently named an All-American for his talents on the lacrosse field in 2016 and this year he is pursuing his passion of wakeboarding while attending Arizona State University.

Milan Kent Named All American, Takes To The Waves

Former Becker Bulldog student/athlete Milan Kent recently received All American honors from U.S. Lacrosse for the 2016 season.

Kent was one of 13 Minnesota lacrosse players to achieve the award that is endowed to players from all 50 states and was voted on by coaches in the league.

Kent compiled 53 points — 35 goals, 18 assists, (5.3 pts/game) and picked up 55 ground balls.  He is the team’s three-time MVP and received all conference awards his sophomore, junior and senior year and all state his junior and senior year.

Kent is currently attending Arizona State University, where he was offered a spot on their Division 1 club lacrosse team. However, Milan bypassed the offer to pursue other passions.

ASU has a one of the top collegiate wakeboarding teams in the country (currently ranked #2 in the nation) and Milan is passionate about wakeboarding.  This passion was instilled by his mother (Julie) who has an extensive background in watersports  including show skiing with Little Crow Ski team in New London and waterskiing professionally at Sea World. She is in the waterskiing Hall of Fame.

Wakeboarding is a surface water sport which involves riding a wakeboard over the surface of a body of water. It was developed from a combination of water skiing, snowboarding, and surfing techniques.

Milan made the ASU wakeboarding team and was asked to compete for the ASU Wake Devils at the 2016 USA Wakeboard Collegiate Nationals in Pensacola, FL,  Sept. 15-17.  Sixteen teams, including defending champion University of Florida, are expected to compete in the 16th annual event, where individual titles and the coveted team titles will be up for grabs.

Collegiate teams across the country have competed at five regional tournaments over the past two semesters to get a chance to go to the Nationals. In addition to Florida and ASU, other teams qualified to compete at the Nationals include  Louisiana State, Michigan State, Mississippi, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Utah.

Each team consists of four male riders, two female riders and one wakeskater. The nationals will include quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, with the top-four riders earning a spot in the pro division to compete for a cash prize

Milan is currently studying business and communications at ASU.
