Mc Calla Carries Team As Bulldogs Go 1 1

The Becker Bulldog boys basketball team split two games this week.

Becker 77, Dassel-Cokato 64
The boys hosted the Chargers Tuesday and escaped with a 13-point win.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a big lead in the first half and kept the “pedal to the metal” behind the 34 points from guard Hunter McCalla and the 24 from Jack Conzemius.

Becker’s defense had to thwart the Charger’s top scorers and they did a decent job, holding Trever Kaiser to 25 and Carter Nelson to 21 in the win.

Kaiser was a force to be reckoned with as he also tallied four steals, six rebounds, two blocked shots and one assist.

McCalla had four assists, four rebounds and one blocked shot. Dawson Thom had six rebounds and was 1-for-2 at the free throw line.

Bulldog scoring: McCalla 34, Conzemius 24, Lucas Dertinger 15, CJ Howard 3 and Thom 1.

Chargers scoring: Kaiser 25, Nelson 21, Isaac Morris 9, Alex Terning 3, Michael Howell 2, Jake Nelson 2 and Grant Sangren 2.

Little Falls 74, Becker 61
The boys traveled to Little Falls Thursday and lost by 13 as Michael Hanowski and Austin Erdmann each posted 16 points for the Flyers.

Becker was led for the second straight game by McCalla, who tallied 29 points.

Little Falls (4-4) shot 40% from the floor (24-60) and 79% from the charity stripe (15-19). They also hit 11 three-pointers.

Becker shot 38% from the floor (20-52) and 64% (14-22) from the free throw line. They converted just seven three pointers out of 25 shot attempts.

Becker scoring: McCalla 29, Ryan Good 6, Brandon Gustafson 5, Howard 5, Dertinger 5, Conzemius 4, Thom 4 and Tyler Lindquist 3.
