The Becker Bulldog girls basketball team has two teams playing in the SCSU league Monday nights this summer.
As of this week, both teams had a record of 11-1.
The format of the league is 12-minute games where they play six games each per night. Dan Baird is the coach for Becker Charcoal Grey.
“I love this league as a coach because it puts the players in many end-of-game situations, which helps us learn how to close out games once the regular season rolls around,” he says.
Adeline Kent and Courtney Nuest have been dominating the competition for Baird’s squad, taking their games to another level.
“An official commented to me after one of the games that that one player of yours is unbelievable,” Baird said. “I didn't know which of these two girls he was referring to since both are playing at such a high level.”
Dominic Squires is the coach of the other team — the Becker Black Team — which consists of incoming ninth and 10th graders.
