Becker 9, Albany 3
Becker Softball is off to a great season with wrapping up a win Thursday night against Albany.
Lady Bulldogs traveled to Albany Thursday afternoon to take on the Huskies. Senior Haley Harmon pitched an amazing six innings. She was able to hold a 9-0 lead for the Bulldogs before Huskie’s Erika Schwartz was able to get a hit off of her.
Harmon struck out of 17 Huskies before tiring in the seventh.
“I was looking forward to a perfect game today, but I know it’s not the most important thing. Still, it would be nice to get one eventually this season,” says Harmon.
Bulldogs finished off the game with a grand slam by Alexa Hanowski. To date Becker is undefeated his season. It will place them above Albany in the conference standings with a 3-0 record.
“I’m very pleased with the progress we’ve made during the past week. With very few outdoor practices it’s been a struggle for the girls to find a rhythm at the plate and to get fielding reps, however we’ve continued to make progress,” says Coach Baune.
Becker 9, Zimmerman 0
Monday’s game was the home opener for the Lady Bulldogs against Zimmerman. First on the board for game was in the second inning with Alexa Hanowski driving in Lindsey Lorette. The next added run was in the third inning when Sam Lorette doubled and scored on a triple by Erika Schwartz. The bottom of the fourth inning was the most exciting for the Bulldogs with seven runs.
Leading hitters for this game were Hailey Fitzpatrick 2-4, stolen base. Lindsey Lorette 2-4, rbi. Alexa Hanowski 2-2, 2 walks, 2 rbi.
Becker 4, Milaca 1
Tuesday’s game in Milaca remained scoreless for a total of three innings as both teams struggled to put the ball in play. Becker was the first to hit the board with three runs in the top of the fourth. Erika Schwartz led off the inning with a walk and Lindsey Lorette followed with a single. Another run was added in the fifth when Fitzpatrick led off with a single, stole second base and scored on a single by Lorette. Wolves were able to get one run in the bottom of the fifth.
