Bailey Ray’s Roadhouse sustains substantial damage in late night fire

A passerby in Santiago noticed smoke and flames coming from the roof of Bailey Ray’s Roadhouse on Monday at 10:20 p.m. The individual called 911 and Becker Fire Department was dispatched.  The bar is located at 21201 165th Ave. in Santiago.

Firefighters from Station 2 in Santiago were on the scene quickly and started to attack the fire in the upper level. Additional resources were called from Becker Station 1, Clear Lake and Big Lake Fire Departments. They were able to put the fire out and save the building and restoration is underway. The cause of the fire is undetermined after an investigation, but appears to be from a clothes dryer.

The owners have announced they will be closed while they assess and repair damages.

Bailey Ray’s owner Pat O’Brien shared these comments about his appreciation to the Fire Fighters from Santiago, Becker, Clear Lake and Big Lake who responded to the fire: “Not only were they there to do their duties, but they treated the situation with empathy and care to minimize the damage as much as possible. We are grateful for them and whomever the person(s) who promptly reported the signs of smoke as this may have saved the establishment from a total loss. Thank you in advance to all our fellow patrons for your support. We will continue to keep the community updated as much as possible on our Facebook page.”
