Hornet wrestlers top Mora, Albany

The Big Lake wrestling team won another triangular meet last Tuesday, beating Mora and Albany by almost identical scores.

Against Mora, the Hornets opened with two wins. At 106, Big Lake 56 Mora 15. Ivan Lapointe pinned Stratton Nelson at 1:46 and Cash Sixberry beat Anthony Nelson by major decision, 17-9 at 113.

At 120, Mora’s Mason Nelson took a 12-8 decision over Cash Stortz.

Christian Noble pinned Carter Gmahl at 0:36 at 126 before Mora’s Nathan Nelson beat Nolan Reiter, 12-5 at 132.

At 138, Zack Smith won by forfeit.

Dillon Browen won by major over Avery Nelson, 15-5 at 145.

Mora’s  Cole Gmahl won a close decision, 5-3 over Carson Gellerman at 152.

At 160, Tyler Dehmer pinned Josh Yates at 1:29.

Johnathon Murphy pinned Cael Sjodin at 1:27 at 170.

At 182, Brett Bordwell pinned Brock Peterson at 1:39.

Peter Duncombe pinned Jared Yates at 2:54 at 195.

Mora got its final points at 220 when Dyllon Adams pinned Rieley Mullen at 4:48.

Kane Lapointe closed out the scoring for the Hornets with a pin of Ben Everson at 0:46.

Final score was 56-15.

Big Lake beat Albany, 59-15 in their other matchup.

Ivan Lapointe pinned Ean Hansen at 2:44.

 Cash Sixberry won by forfeit.

Cash Stortz beat Mason Geise by major decision, 15-6.

Christian Noble won by forfeit.

Nolan Reiter pinned Carson Holthaus at 2:57.

Zack Smith won by major decision over Mason Plumski, 15-7.

Dillon Browen beat Spencer Kollmann, 6-2.

Carson Gellerman pinned Cole Moulzolf at 4:04.

Tyler Dehmer pinned Peyton Krumrei at 6:01.

Johnathon Murphy won by forfeit.

Hunter Tate got Albany’s  first point with a pin of Brett Bordwell at 3:26.

Albany’s Declan Crumley beat Peter Duncombe, 8-1.    

Rieley Mullen got a win by forfeit before Albany’s Jacob Adrian pinned Kane Lapointe at 4:25.
