Wrestler Jaylin Hildebrandt finished second in Section 6AA individual play last weekend in Foley and advanced to participate in the state tournament this weekend at Xcel Energy Center.

 

Hildebrandt lost a 9-6 decision to Gabe Zierdan of Albany in the fist place match of 182-lbs., then rebounded to beat by rule Justin Robinson of Zimmerman to take second.

 

Hildebrandt competed Friday and Saturday for a state title.

 

Section 6AA Individual Results

106-lbs. Jake Nelson placed third. In the quarterfinal, Nelson (28-5) won by 7-0 decision over Clete Scherer (9-5)  of Delano. In the semifinal, Jerry Simes  of Litchfield (22-13) won by 3-2 decision over Nelson. In the consolation semis, Nelson won by fall at 2:07 over Rocco Visci of Big Lake. In the third place match, Nelson won by 5-3 decision over Joe Montplaisir of Zimmerman. In the second place match,  Simes won by rule over Nelson.

113-lbs. Lukas Paulson placed fourth.

 

In round one, Paulson (18-7) won by fall at :24 over Trevor Wilson (5-21) of Annandale/Maple Lake. In  the quarterfinal, Paulson won by fall at 2:29 over Will Mergen (18-13) of Albany. In the semifinals, Dylan Young (25-8) of Foley won by 11-10 decision over Paulson. In the consolation semis, Paulson won by fall at 2:17 over Nelson Anderson (7-12) of Monticello. In the third place match, Evan Carr (24-10) of Zimmerman won by 11-5 decision over  Paulson.

120-lbs. Caden Dewall placed sixth.

 

In round one, Quinn Clapper (13-16) of Albany won by 12-0 major decision Dewall (3-5). In the consolation round, Dewall won by fall at 1:04 over Ben Zobel (6-19) of Dassel-Cokato. In consolation round three, Dewall won by 10-4 decision over Jack Klug (20-19) of Annandale/Maple Lake. In the consolation semis, Ryan Dunlap (22-12) of Foley won by 14-1 major decision over Dewall. In the fifth place match, Clapper won by 6-2 decision over Dewall.

126-lbs. Josh Lumley placed fourth.

 

In the quarterfinals, Lumley (13-7) won by fall  at 3:04 over Javier Solis  (5-23) of Albany. In the semifinal, Ezra Kaping (36-6) of  Litchfield won by 5-2 decision over Lumley. In the consolation semis, Lumley won by 5-1 decision over Carter Michels (16-22) of  Monticello. In the third place match, Cameron Kowitz (24-13) of Foley won by 7-3 decision over Lumley.

 

132-lbs. Blake Paulson (18-15) placed sixth.

 

In the quarterfinals, John Dierkes  (25-17) of Foley won by 2-0 decision over Paulson. In the consolation round three, Paulson won by fall at 1:00 over Ashton Brandner (2-6) of St. Cloud Apollo. In the consolation semis, Heath Foster (24-12) of Big Lake won by 2-1 decision over  Paulson. In the fifth place match, John Dierkes (25-17) of  Foley won by 6-3 decision over Paulson.

 

138-lbs. Colten Demant (27-13) placed fifth.

 

In the quarterfinals, Carsten Scherber (29-10) of Monticello won by 9-2 decision over Demant. In the consolation round two, Demant won by 7-3 decision over Jacob Waalk (11-22) of Zimmerman. In consolation round three, Demant won by 2-0 decision over Ethan Quast (16-7) of Delano. In the consolation semifinal,  Michael Rothfork (21-11) of Foley won by 4-0 decision over Demant. In the fifth place match, Demant won by 7-5 decision over Andrew Loch (23-16) of  Litchfield.

 

145-lbs. Adam Bauman (22-12) placed third.

 

In the quarterfinal,  Bauman won by 11-5 decision over Camden Tschudi (23-18) of Delano. In the semifinal, Peter Nelson (26-2) of St. Cloud Apollo won by fall at 2:53 over Bauman. In the consolation semis,  Bauman won by 6-4 decision over Connor Thorsten (16-11) of Foley. In the third place match, Bauman won by 11-10 decision over Caleb Juhl (26-9) of Big Lake. In the second place match, Logan Nelson (37-6) of  Litchfield won by 8-5  decision over Bauman.

 

152-lbs. Mikey James (21-12) placed third.

 

In the quarterfinals, James won by 6-0 decision over Joe Morris (24-16) of  Big Lake. In the semifinals,  Noah Lefebvre (32-5) of  Foley won by 9-1 major decision over James. In the consolation semis, James won by 10-2 major decision over Logan Kittleson (16-18) of Albany. In the third place match, James won by 2-1 decision over Morris of Big Lake. In the second place match, Alex Pachan (17-8) of St. Cloud Apollo won by 6-0 decision over James.

170-lbs. Brayden Weber  (10-10) placed eighth.

 

In the quarterfinals,  Trae Bedford (20-1) of Annandale/Maple Lake won by fall at 1:41 over Weber. In the consolation round two, Weber won by 11-2 major decision over Wil Gomez (3-15) of  Big Lake. In consolation round three, Driston Schyma (20-10) of Foley won by 12-5 decision over Weber.
