The Becker-Big Lake hockey team lost 6-3 to St. Paul Highland Park Tuesday at home.
Highland Park scored two goals early in period one before Ryan Murnane put the Eagles on the board at 11:58 in the first. The Eagles were shut out of the second period with two more goals scored against them.
Less than one minute into the final period, Nick Cencer, with an assist by Lyndon Carlson began what the Eagles' hoped would be a comeback. That was short lived, as Highland Park would score again, bringing the score to 5-2.
The Eagles would not be denied one more goal by Weston Schugg, assisted by Cencer. Highland Park would score once more, to end the game with a 6-3 win over the Eagles.
"They were the team we had our only win against earlier this season," noted Head Coach Friedrichs, "We had confidence going into this game."
"We were really looking forward to this one," added Justin Morrow, the Eagles' goalie. Morrow 24 saves on the 30 shots he faced. Now at 1-13-1, the Eagles host WSFLG Blizzard Saturday at 7 p.m.
