The Becker Bulldog girls tennis team played one match this week, beating a tough Little Falls squad on the road. It was Becker’s fourth win in the last five matches.

Becker 5, Little Falls 2
Taylor Pawlicki won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and led Becker to a 5-2 Granite Ridge Conference girls tennis win over Little Falls in Becker Tuesday afternoon.

Angela Meschke (No. 2 singles) and Grace Schulte (No. 3 singles) recorded wins for the Flyers over Becker’s Anna Ritchie and Blair Pappenfus.

Courtney Nuest beat her rival, Lydia Lange by a 6-0, 6-1 score at #4 singles.

Megan Nelson and Hannah Bengtson easily dispatched of Kristen Athmann and Madeline Wright at #1 doubles by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Ally Kangas and Payton Bernstrom had to go to three sets to beat Tamara Rhames and McKayla Geise at #2 doubles by a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

Emily Kotten and Alayna Lindquist had little trouble with Emily Orr and Alicia Kallis, winning each of their sets in shutout fashion, 6-0, 6-0.

“The girls played really well,” said Head Coach Nate Bucher. “Blair battled tough in her match but just couldn't pull it out.”

Bucher said the two teams ended up playing in Becker’s fieldhouse because of weather conditions.

“So no one was really on their perfect game,” he said. “But we were glad to have the space to play indoors.”
