FRESHMAN FORWARD MEGAN GAMBLE had 12 points against Foley Thursday and five against Cathedral last Friday.
FRESHMAN GUARD ALAYNA LINDQUIST played the entire game last Friday against Cathedral, scoring 10 points and capturing seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Girls Split Two

The Becker Lady Bulldog basketball team split two games this week, losing to Cathedral last Friday on the road and thrashing Foley at home Thursday.
 
Becker 81, Foley 54
The Bulldogs played a spirited game Thursday at home and destroyed the Foley Falcons in a Granite Ridge Conference game by 27.
 
Becker moves to 5-2 in the conference and 8-8 overall, while Foley fell to 6-9 overall and 1-6 in conference play.  
 
Becker was relentless on defense, using full court pressure to speed up the pace of play, which served them well causing a plethora of turnovers.  
 
The Bulldogs shot well, made the extra pass effective and limited their own turnovers.  
 
Courtney Nuest did a great job attacking the basket, scoring 23 points. She was aggressive and took on bodies as she continually drove to the net.  
 
Julia Bengtson scored 14 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and five steals.  Megan Gamble scored 12 points and had five offensive rebounds to spark the Bulldogs off the bench.  
 
“Megan has really done a nice job in practice the last few weeks,” said Head Coach Dan Baird. “It was really nice to see her respond as well as she did.” 
 
Isabelle Legatt led the Falcons in scoring with 13 points.

Foley scoring:  Legatt 13, Cassy Teff 12, Madison Peschl 8,  Kylee Frisbie 5,   Landrie Walz 5, McKenna Gross 4, Marissa Peschl 3,  Kiley Paggen 2 and Callie Teff 2.  
 
Cathedral  70, Becker 62
The Bulldogs lost an important Granite Ridge Conference game last Friday night in St. Cloud by eight points.  
 
Megan Voit led Cathedral with 21 points.  
 
Cathedral had a rebound advantage of 49-33 in this contest, which really told the story.  
 
The Crusaders improved to 11-1 on the season and 5-0 in the GRC.
 
The Bulldogs were led by Bengtson, who scored 17 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists.  Lindquist played the entire game and had a great stat line, scoring 10 points, reeling in seven rebounds, grabbing five assists and notching two steals. 
 
“Alayna is in great shape and played well the entire game, which made it unnecessary to get her a sub,” said Baird.  
 
Nuest finished with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Cathedral scoring:  Voit 21  Kate Tomczik 13, Meg Januschka 11, Hallie Hupf 10, Gabby Heying 7, Abbey Medelberg 4, Andrea Fromelt 2 and Charita Lewis 2.
