Girls Lacrosse Jv Teams Ends Season At 9 1 1

The Becker Bulldogs girls lacrosse team competed in two home games at Eppard Field this week, playing STMA on Tuesday and Monticello on Thursday.

“Both teams suffered losses to good STMA teams on Tuesday,” said Head Coach Anicca Lundeen. “JV had their first loss 8-4, and varsity lost their match 9-13. Varsity was down by quite a bit at halftime, but despite battling back during the second half it wasn’t quite enough.”

Thursday was the last game of the season, played at Eppard Field against Monticello. JV won their game, ending the season with a record 9-1-1.

“What a great end to a really fun season,” said Lundeen. “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to start my coaching career with.”

Varsity lost their last game of the season to Monticello 13-9.

“It was like STMA all over again,” said Lundeen. “We were down 8-1 at the half and fought our way out of a hole but again fell short.”

The girls golf team’s first playoff game is Tuesday; location, time and opponent will be determined after section seeding takes place this weekend.
