Girls Lacrosse Jv Team Wins 8th Straight Match

The Becker Bulldogs girls lacrosse teams had a great week, with the JV team winning their eighth straight match during their first game and tying for the first time in their second. The varsity team walloped their opponent in their first game and although they lost their second, had a strong comeback in the second half.

Tuesday the team played at home on Eppard Field against Sauk Rapids-Sartell.

The JV team won its eighth straight game 9-4. Goalie Makenna Thelen had a great game along with the defense.

Varsity won its fourth game, 15-5. Scores came from several players, but the Bulldogs’ defense, led by Ruth Krisko and Bryanna Edling, made an impressive defense showing.

Thursday the team headed to Chisago Lakes, where JV had their first tie, 5-5. Jazlyn Toedter had a great game with two goals and winning five draws.

Varsity began their game on a slow start, down 0-9 at the half. The team came back strong, scoring five and holding them to two goals in the second half.

“Seeing how they battled back was a wonderful example of teamwork paying off,” said Head Coach Anicca Lundeen. “I wish we could have started the game the way we ended it, I think there would have been a different outcome.”

The Bulldogs girls lacrosse team has two regular games left in their season, both at home. Tuesday, May 21 is parent’s night, and Thursday, May 23 is senior night, where the seniors on the team will be honored by their teammates for their hard work and dedication.
