After five Granite Ridge Conference meets, the Becker Bulldogs girls golf team has been holding steady in their fourth-place standing.
Monday, the team traveled to the Little Falls Country Club where they competed against their conference rivals.
Kylee Rick played extremely well, leading the team with a score of 93. Emma Benson, Alexa Voller and Avery Johnson trailed closely behind each other, with scores of 104, 105 and 106 respectively. Evelyn Eich came in with a score of 132.
“Four of the five girls shot their personal bests,” said Head Coach Anna Babler. “Huge congrats to Kylee [Rick] for breaking 100 for the first time.”
The Bulldogs were missing two of their sophomores due to illness and exams.
Albany won the meet with a team score of 365. St. Cloud Cathedral placed second with 384, and Milaca rounded out the top three with 400. Becker was close behind, coming in fourth with a team score of 408.
Tuesday the Bulldogs played another conference game, golfing nine holes in Foley at the Stone Creek Golf Course.
Albany once again took top place, with a team score of 173. Milaca moved up a place from the previous meet, coming in second with 180, and St. Cloud Cathedral dropped to third, with a team score of 182. Becker again placed fourth with a team score of 200.
“The girls are continuing to improve,” said Babler. “It’s exciting knowing how young our team is and the amount of growth they have shown just this year.”
Gretchen Graftass led the team, scoring 47, followed by Kylee Rick with one point more at 48. Evelyn Eich improved her game, scoring 52. Emma Benson and Avery Johnson were right behind her, with scores of 53 and 54 respectively. Alexa Voller rounded out the team with a score of 58.
The Becker Bulldogs girls golf team will be hosting a conference meet at Pebble Creek on Monday, and heading to Southbrook Golf Course on Wednesday for the Annandale Invitational.
