Fluck Shoots 41 To Lead Becker In Foley

Junior Jackson Fluck led Becker with a 41 to give the Bulldogs a third place finish (168) in Foley at a Granite Ridge Conference meet.
 
“It was a windy and cold day at Stone Creek in Foley,” said Coach Dan Olson.  “The course is short, but has a lot of trouble.  The wind made it play tough and the scores showed it.”
 
St. Cloud Cathedral took first with a score of 165.
 
Albany senior Izach Evens shot a 40 to lead Albany, which placed second as a team (167).
 
Zimmerman’s Levi Thoreson shot a 39 to finish with the lowest score at the meet.
 
The Crusaders, who have five of the six players returning from last year’s fourth-place finish at the Class 2A state meet, were led by senior Vince McStott, who shot a 40, and senior Jack Petroske, who finished with a 41.
 
Team scores: 1). St. Cloud Cathedral 165; 2). Albany 167; 3). Becker 168; 4). Zimmerman 176; 5). Little Falls 190; 6). Foley 192; 7). Milaca 197; 8). Mora 242.
 
Becker scores: Fluck 41, Alex Stanz 42, Brandon Abrahamson 42, Caleb Foster 43, Zach Stanz 43 and Austin Seavert 46.

The next golf excursion is a Granite Ridge Conference meet Friday at Mora at Spring Brook Golf Course. 
 
Next week, the boys play at Blackberry Ridge Monday, then head to Stones Throw Golf Course in Milaca  Tuesday before returning home for a Thursday meet at Pebble Creek.
