Eagles Triumph Over Northwest Icemen

The Eagles celebrated Hockey Day in Minnesota  Saturday they way they knew best, on the ice. In Ruppelius’ final game, the Eagles came out on top with a 4-3 win at home.
 
Austin Rydberg put in a goal for the Eagles less than two minutes into the first period. Northwest Icemen would tie two minutes later. Eagles stars Aubrey Hartfiel and Weston Schug gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead with Hartfiel scoring with Schug assisting. The game tied again 2-2 at the end of the period.
 
After no score in the second period, Corbin Kollar gave the Eagles a 3-2 lead with a goal just under three minutes in. Northwest Icemen would tie the game again with less than a minute left in regulation.
 
Ruppelius, in his final game before chemo, lead a charge in the final seconds, and with help from Hartifiel, set up Schug to score the the game winning goal for the Eagles. 4-3 final.
 
Zach Piehl faced 22 shots during the game, saving 19. The Eagles attempted 33 shots against the Icemen.
 
Alec Doran (tripping) served two minutes on the only penalty against the Eagles. The Icemen served 10 minutes on five infractions.
 
The Eagles improved to a 7-10 season record.
