The Eagles visited their rivals in Monticello, the closest game to their home school, on Tuesday and were shut out Monticello 9-0.
The first period started off rough for the Eagles with three of the first four shots on their goal resulted in a score in the first three minutes. Monticello added one more goal near the end of the first to lead 4-0 going into the second.
Monticello added two more goals in the second period, leading 6-0. Monticello then added three more in the third period.
Monticello more than quadrupled the Eagles’ offensive shots on goal, with Monticello shooting 44 times on the goal, the Eagles mounting nine shots on the goal.
Zach Piehl started the game and played the first two periods, facing 34 shots, saving 28. Caden Weber took over in the third period and faced 10 shots, saving seven.
A low penalty game, the Eagles accounted for half of the penalties with Logan Beckstrom and Weston Schug each serving two minutes for minor penalties.
