Eagles Dominate Home Opener

The Eagles opened their regular season at home with a solid 15-3 win over Bagley-Fosston last Saturday. The Eagles scored 12 unanswered points in the first two periods. Weston Schug would score four of those points.
 
Schug scored the first goal (even strength) at 3:57 with an assist from Max Nelson and Aubrey Hartfiel. Nate Kerzman (even strength) would score at 7:42 with an assist from Hartfiel and Corbin Kollar. At 10:53, Schug scored again followed by an even-strength goal by Kollar with an assist by Tyler Ruppelius and Hartfiel. The Eagles were up 4-0 at the end of the first period.
 
The Eagles would then score eight goals in nine minutes to begin the second period. Schug was first on the board at 1:45 with an even-strength goal. Logan Beckstrom (even strength) scored at 2:55. Ruppelius, assist from Luke Mehelich and Hartfiel, (even strength) scored at 6:41 followed at 6:47 by a goal from Max Nelson (even strength) and Jacob Bahe.
 
At 7:35 another even-strength goal was scored by Weston Schug and Billy Braun. At 8:37 Hartfiel (even strength) scored with the assist from Kollar. Hartfiel scored again at 8:44 with an assist from Ruppelius. Alec Doran (even strength) scored at 9:02.
 
Bagley-Fosston finally scored at 10:31 to get on the board, but trailed the Eagles 12-1.
 
At 11:24 the Eagles scored again with an even-strength goal from Ruppelius with an assist from Mehelich and Hartfiel. Bagley-Fosston responded with their second goal of the game, trailing 13-2. Schug (even strength) would score again at 16:56 with an assist from Nelson and Bahe to finish the second period with a 14-2 lead.
 
At 11:49, Bagley-Fosston scored their final goal of the game. At 16:27 Bahe (even strength) scored the last goal of the game with an assist from Nelson. 
 
Hartfiel would account for seven points with two goals and five assists, while Schug had five points, with four goals.
 
Caden Weber and Zach Piehl split goal time for the Eagles. Weber faced 13 shots with 10 saves while Piehl had seven saves on seven shots against. The Eagles would mount 39 shot attempts on the Bagley-Fosston goal.
 
The game saw two penalties, both against the Eagles. The penalties amounted to four minutes. The Eagles are 1-0-0 in regular season play.
 
The Eagles next traveled to Wadena-Deer Creek Friday. They face Mora-Milaca on Tuesday and host Sauk Rapids-Rice Thursday.
