Eagles Dominate Against Moose Lake

After a 7-4 loss to St. Paul Highland Park last Friday, the Eagles regrouped on Monday to take a commanding home win against Moose Lake, winning 12-3.

The Eagles outnumbered Moose Lake 15-9, which helped with their victory as Moose Lake couldn’t sub out tired players as readily as the Eagles. Still, a win is a win.

Weston Schug (power play) was the first goal with an assist from Alec Doran at 9:05 in the first period. Doran would score a goal with assist from Aubrey Hartfiel just a minute and a half later. Corbin Kollar put the Eagles up 3-0 with an assist from Nate Kerzman and Jacob Bahe. Moose Lake  scored their first goal 10 seconds later.

Kollar scored again for the Eagles, Bahe was assisting. Max Nelson finished out the first period with a goal, he had an assist from Hartfiel and Doran. The Eagles were then 5-1 at the end of the first.

Kollar scored his third goal of the game to open up the second period. Austin Rydberg had the assist. Nelson followed with his second goal of the game with an assist from Hartfiel and Schug.

Schug would get this second and third goal soon after, scoring consecutively. His first goal had the assist from Logan Beckstrom, while his second goal, a power play, had an assist from Doran. The Eagles were now ahead 9-2.

Nelson scored his third goal at the beginning of the third period. Schug and Hartfiel assisted. Doran scored his first goal of the night with an assist from Tucker Rhodes. Rydberg scored the final goal of the game with the assist from Bahe.

The Eagles served two minutes on one minor penalty (Doran, slashing) while Moose Lake served four minutes on two infractions.

The Eagles rematched Moose Lake Thursday. They host Mora-Milaca Jan 18 and Northwest Iceman Jan 20, both at the Princeton Ice Arena.
