Eagles Defeat Moost Lake In Rematch, Schug Named Pow

Fresh off of their victory over Moose Lake at home, the Eagles traveled to Moose Lake to play them a second time last weekend. The Eagles won 6-4.
 
The Eagles scored 41 seconds into the first period with a goal from Aubrey Hartfiel with an assist from Tucker Rhodes and Weston Schug. Hartfiel would score again at 7:56 (short handed) with another assist from Schug. Schug scored his own goal at 12:58 on a power play.
 
The second quarter was barely 25 second old when Max Nelson put the Eagles up 4-1 with an assist from Schug and Hartfiel. Nelson  scored again mid-period with another assist from Hartfiel. 
 
The third period saw a narrow 5-4 lead for the Eagles, but with five seconds left, Nelson (empty net) sealed an Eagles victory with one final goal,  with Hartfiel assisting. Caden Weber faced 42 shots while at the goal, saving 38. The Eagles had 35 total shots against Moose Lake.
 
Weston Schug was named MN Hockey Hub’s player of the week earlier this month. 
 
“He was nominated by ‘Hub’ and his buddies kept voting for him to win,” said Coach Hartfiel.
 
Schug has 20 goals and 12 assists, earning him 32 points thus far in the season. Hartfiel sits atop the Eagles chart with 36 points from 13 goals and 23 assists. Hartfiel is 19th Statewide in total points, 10th for assists. Schug is 11th in total goals.
