JV Jazz competed their routine to the song "Feel It Still" On December 9th.

Dazzlers Take The Stage In Albany

The Dazzlers dance team competed at the Albany Invitational last Saturday that featured teams in Class A and AA.

JV started the day in the high kick division, they performed their routine to the song ‘Space Jam’.

"The JV kick team is made up mostly of our newest team members. Nerves or jitters may have played a role in this competition with some uncommon mistakes" according to the Coaches .

"We will continue to clean and improve this routine as the season goes on. This is a talented group with a lot of potential and I know their performances will continue to improve" added Coach Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen.

JV jazz competed their routine to the song ‘Feel It Still’ for the second time in competition.

"The team turned in a solid routine, but there is still a lot of room for growth and improvement in both the choreography and execution of the routine. Turn timing and technique will be areas of focus during the remainder of the season" stated Coach Julie Baloun.

Varsity jazz, dancing to ‘Let It Be’, turned in a very strong performance improving their score over last weekend. Total points put the team in the third place spot,  however,  Dance Team uses a rank point system to determine final placements and the rank points left the team in fourth place overall.

"We have to focus on the fact that both our performance and total points improved and not focus solely on final placements.  This is a difficult routine that was performed with strength, grace and athleticism. They focused on the goals we set and our score improved over last week," said Fischer-Danzeisen.

Varsity kick turned in a strong performance, earning them third place.

"It's always great to hear your name announced at the awards ceremony!" said Baloun.

"There is always room for  improvement. We had some minor mistakes and timing issues that we will need to correct as we head into Conference.  Although a good, solid performance, especially early in the season, we are looking for great and this team is more than capable of that! As we continue to build our stamina, strength, performance and confidence levels, we will see scores and placements improve as well. I'm excited to see this routine evolve over the course of the season!" stated Baloun.

The Becker Dance Team travels to Holy Angels Academy for their Invite this Saturday. They will be competing at their first Granite Ridge Conference meet  in Becker Thurs., Dec. 21.
