Dazzlers Take Second At Zimmerman Invite

The Becker Dazzlers dance team “wowed” the Granite Ridge Conference by sweeping to a second place finish Tuesday in Zimmerman.

They finished directly behind state powerhouse St. Cloud Cathedral.

“Even though we are missing some key people this week, the team really worked well together and proved it on the floor,” Co-Coach Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen said.

Fischer-Danzeisen says the team is excited to be back in second place as they were previously trailing Zimmerman and Albany last year.

“Each team had a great performance and we're looking to improve the routines and make some changes over holiday break before we compete again in Alexandria Jan. 7,” Fischer-Danzeisen said.

“We'll see some heavy hitters there, so we're hoping to inspire the team to continue their workouts, practice and rest while they have some time off.”

Fischer-Danzeisen and Julie Baloun’s team has been making leaps and bounds these last few years. Molly Kensy, the Head Cathedral Dance Coach and new Becker Intermediate School teacher told Coach Nadia, “You're our [Cathedral's] vote for the most improved team in the state.”
