The Becker Dazzlers dance team held their annual Freedom Days Dance Camp over the week of June 13 – 18.
This year’s camp had 25 participants ranging from pre-school to fifth grade. Participants spent the week learning dances choreographed and taught by high school dance team members.
Saturday morning during the freedom days celebration, the campers rode on a float provided by TJ Potter trucking, while members of the high school team danced behind the float. At the conclusion of the parade, the campers performed their routines for the crowd gathered by the stage near Nix Bar and Grill.
The 2016-2017 Becker High School dance team also performed a routine for the crowd.
Once the parade and performances were complete, the Becker dance team held their annual dunk tank. Local “celebrities" participating this year were Mayor Lefty Kleis, Police Chief Brent Baloun, City Council Member Rick Hendrickson and Becker Middle School Teacher Greg Lynch. The camp and dunk tank serve as team fundraisers for the 2016-2017 season.
The Becker Dance Team would like to thank TJ Potter Trucking, Bernicks Pepsi, Becker Community Education, the Becker High School custodial staff, the Becker Community Center, their local “celebrities’ and all their parent and family volunteers who helped make this event a success.
