The Becker dance team competed at Rocori high school Saturday. The Rocori Invite is a big Class A and AA competition where teams finalize routines heading to Sections. The home team, Rocori, won both the Jazz and Kick division in class AA. The Varsity kick team was the very first performance of the day.

 

“Although not a bad performance, this was not our best performance of the season. Some memory mistakes and formation struggles cost us. Whenever you go out first in any competition, you really have to bring your best and set the bar.  Mistakes are very costly and they showed up in the score sheet. We need to learn from and correct our mistakes as we head in to the next competition. This is a strong and talented team.  I am confident that this team can rebound and have a much stronger performance next time out," said Coach Baloun.

 

JV kick also experienced some memory mistakes and timing issues.

 

  “We are nearing the end of the JV season, so we really want to eliminate mistakes and put our best out each time.  We will be working hard in practice to make corrections and improve our performance and scores. Our goal is to finish the season strong and this team is very capable of that!" said Coach Fischer-Danzeisen.

 

JV jazz was coming off a strong finish at least week's competition.

 

 “The goal is always to improve on your previous performance.  Although the performance this week was pretty good, the scores were not as high as last week. We will be working hard in the coming weeks on the timing and landings of our skills.  We have a couple competitions left for JV and we really want to continue to get stronger as the season moves ahead.” said Baloun.

 

Varsity jazz closed out the day for the Becker dance team with a solid performance.

 

"The jazz team turned in a good performance today. This team pushes themselves to do challenging and difficult skills within a graceful routine. We will continue to clean and perfect our routine as we head towards sections," said Fischer-Danzeisen.

 

The Becker dance team performed at half-time of the Becker home basketball game on Friday  and will be competing next at the Monticello invite Jan. 27.  Their Section competition takes place in Alexandria Feb. 3.

Registration for the Jr. Dazzlers Hip Hop Dance Camp is now open through Becker Community registration.  Registration closes Wed., Jan.31.

 

This camp is open to boys and girls ages 3-12.  The camp takes place after school February fifth, sixth and seventh with a halftime performance February eighth. Register soon!
