The Becker Dazzlers dance team competed at the Albany Invitational last Saturday.
JV Kick
The JV kick squad started the day off for the Dazzlers and they were fired up and ready to compete.
“I was really impressed with the energy they gave while performing,” said Co-Head Coach Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen. “It's so important for new team members to learn that early on and continue to improve on it.”
JV Assistant Coach Jody Lechner-Roepke agreed.
“It was a great performance for many of the team's second competition ever. It's awesome to see them work hard, grow, and improve every weekend.”
Varsity Kick
The Dazzlers varsity kick group had a solid performance, increasing their score over last week. Their biggest improvement was in the routine effectiveness category.
“This was a tight scoring competition,” said Co-Head Coach Julie Baloun. “We made some changes to our routine this past week and varsity kick performed well.
We are really looking to have a clean routine and improve our technique scores as we move through the season.”
JV Jazz
All of the Dazzler coaches said the JV jazz routine is a cute routine that receives a lot of compliments at competitions. For many of the athletes, this was just their second competition.
Coach Fischer-Danzeisen and Lechner-Roepke said “they like the genuine smiles the dancers have when they're performing the routine.”
"It's just a happy dance," said Fischer-Danzeisen.
Varsity Jazz
The Dazzlers varsity jazz ensemble finished up the competition in Albany. They took third place and broke a team record by scoring the highest amount of jazz points in the history of the team.
“I just couldn't be more proud of this team,” said Fischer-Danzeisen. “They've really taken on the attitude of the routine and have learned to push their bodies and minds to a whole new level. The coaching staff is very excited to see how far this team will go this year. I'm looking forward to shattering more records.”
The coaches noted their talented team is looking at improving mainly on technique scores before their next competition in Melrose Dec. 17.
