LAST YEAR’S DAZZLER DANCE CAMPERS practiced their routines on the football field with the help of the Becker Dazzler high school dance team. This past Friday, the youths strutted their stuff during halftime of the Becker/Foley Homecoming game.

Dazzler “Feeder Program” Performs At Halftime

The Becker Dazzlers dance team’s season does not begin until Oct. 19, however, this year’s group is getting practicing, getting in shape and gearing up for another fantastic competitive season of dance.

The Dazzlers held their annual fall dance camp this past week and in four short practices (Monday through Thursday) the Dazzler veterans taught 56 "dance campers"  a routine that was performed at the Becker Homecoming game Friday.

The Dazzlers dance camp consists of teaching 3-12 year old camp participants a routine to perform — plus, there is lots of fun and games and identifying kids’ interest in dance. The camps also serve as a “feeder program” for the ever-growing high school dance team.

The camps are run by members of the Dazzlers with coaches on-site for support and guidance. The Dazzlers host three dance camps each year as a fundraiser for this self-funded Becker athletics team.

The next dance camp will be held in February of 2016 and interested parties will find information through the Becker Community Education program later on this fall or early winter.

Girls in grades 7-12 are eligible to audition for a spot on the Becker Dazzlers high school dance team prior to the season start on Oct. 19. Contact Coach Laura Anderson at beckerdancecoach@gmail.com if interested.
