Dance teams finish 10th, 11th at state

The Becker Bulldog Dance Team had a great showing for their first time at the MSHSL state tournament last weekend in Minneapolis!

“We were so honored to have had the opportunity to represent the 4AA section at the MSHSL State Tournament for both Jazz & High Kick this year,” said Assistant Coach Rhi Edwards-Liebermann.  “It was a first for our program and an amazing experience that our team will cherish forever.”

The team took 10th in Jazz and 11th in High Kick at the Target Center this past weekend.

To be surrounded by the best teams in the state was incredibly inspiring and we can’t wait to start planning for next season,” she continued. “Thank you to the coaches, parents, alumni, families, and community for supporting us throughout our journey this season!”

“While our team goal for the weekend was top eight, we are definitely proud of our final performances of the season,” said Head Coach Fischer-Danzeisen. “The team looked comfortable in that arena and I’m hoping we can continue to earn trips to the Target Center.”

Assistant Coach Autumn Martin added, “Our goal this year was to qualify for the state tournament. The girls worked hard all season to be able to have their moment on that state floor. Watching them perform with passion for the sport and confidence in themselves, I couldn’t be more proud as a coach.”

Lastly, all of the team captains (Gabby Thelen, Stephanie Kluge, Amanda Krenz, Ashley Matvick, and Wren Williams) reported how exciting it was to perform under the bright lights at the Target Center. Senior Captain Gabby Thelen told the coaching staff, “State was an experience that is hard to explain. After working so hard towards our goal and putting years of energy into it, finally being able to achieve it is unlike anything I’ve felt before. It was an experience to last a lifetime and I’m so glad I was able to share those moments with my team.”
