THE DAZZLER DANCE CAMPERS showed off the dance moves they learned in their three-day dance camp earlier this month. The performance was featured at a recent Becker Bulldog girls basketball game.

Dance Campers Flash Their Style At Basketball Game

The Becker Dazzlers dance team recently held their annual hip hop dance camp for youngsters. The camp features boys and girls ranging in ages from three to 12 years old.

Twenty seven campers signed up and participated in the three-day event.

The camp was held Feb. 6-8 at the Intermediate School. Dazzler dance members ran the function and taught a routine which the campers practiced for the first three days.

Come Thursday night, the camp participants performed their routine at halftime of the Becker Bulldog girl's basketball game.  This year's routine was performed to the song Hair Up from the movie Trolls.

“These camps are a great way to introduce dance to kids who may not have tried it before,” said Dazzler Head Coach Julie Baloun. “It's a short time commitment and an easy way to gauge a child's interest in the sport.”

Baloun says it's also a nice opportunity for her dance team members to share their love of dance with the younger kids.

“It's so fun to see the interaction between the older girls and the camp participants,” she said.

The Dazzlers hold three camps each year. Their next camp will be held during the week of Freedom Days this summer with a performance at the Saturday celebration.  In addition to the Hip Hop camp, the Dazzlers also hold a Fall camp which features a performance at halftime of a Becker Bulldog football game.
