Clayba Teams Having Winning Season

It’s been an incredible season so far for the Clear Lake Area Youth Baseball Association (CLAYBA) teams, with the younger players learning the game and having fun, and wins leading the older players’ teams season records.

Along with having fun, the T-ball (Pre-K and K) and B-ball (1-2 grade) teams have been learning basic throwing, catching and hitting skills, along with learning the rules of baseball. They’ll be wrapping up their season next week.

As of July 2, the Willie Mays team (3-5 grade) has a season record of six wins, one loss and three ties. July 9 the team will be traveling to Big Lake to play against Big Lake O’Neil, and they’ll be on home field at Clearview Elementary for their year-end tournament July 13 and 14.

The 11u/12u team (5-7 grade) has a season record of seven wins and two losses as of June 24. July 8 will see them at Sportsman’s Park in Clearwater competing against Monticello. The team will be traveling to the Becker Athletic Complex July 12 for their year-end tournament.
