SENIOR LUCAS DERTINGER continued his torrid pace in scoring for the year as he led the Bulldogs in scoring in two games this week (30, 30) while his team split with Milaca and Sauk Rapids-Rice.

Bulldogs Split Two

The Bulldog boys basketball team split two games this week to bring their overall record to 2-5 and 1-1 in the Granite Ridge Conference.
 
Becker 67, Milaca 63
The Bulldogs traveled to Milaca last Friday night and came away with a four-point win.
 
Lucas Dertinger once again was the Bulldogs’ leading scorer. He tallied 30 points on eight-of-16 shooting, including seven three-pointers. He also had seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
The Wolves were led by Peyton Rothanburg, who scored 21 points.
 
The Bulldogs notched nine, second-chance points and had 15 points off turnovers. Milaca had 12 second-chance points, nine team rebounds, eight fast-break points and 17 points off turnovers.
 
Becker scoring: Dertinger 30, Brandon Gustafson 16, Caleb Quernemoen 7, Sam Ricker 5, Justin Kringle 4, Cade Callahan 3 and Travis Myers 2.
 
Milaca scoring: Rothanburg 21, Cade Sorenson 18, Dylan Ash 9, Jake Mach 6, Logan Mollacek 4, Joe Berg 4 and Steven Worth 1.
 
Storm 62, Bulldogs 55
On the road again, the Becker boys basketball team lost by seven to the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm Wednesday evening.
 
The Bulldogs jumped out to a commanding lead against the Storm behind Dertinger’s 30 points. Becker led at halftime 26-19 and looked prime to take their second win in a row.
 
However,  SRR’s Deng Deang lit things up in the second half — leading the Storm to a 45-29 advantage and a seven-point win.
 
Dertinger did his part, nailing seven three-pointers to keep his team in the game. No other players on the court scored in double figures besides Dertinger and Deang.
 
Bulldog scoring: Dertinger 30, Ricker 9, Quernemoen 8, Gustafson 4, Bryce Boser 2 and Kringler 2.
 
Storm scoring: Deang 30, Braden Tretter 7, Nathan Waldorf 6, Cade Milton-Baumgardner 6, Anthony Massman 4, Joshua Schloe 4, Cody Landwehr 3 and Adrian Ziebarth 2.
