RENEE TRIPP led all Bulldog scorers with 19 points in Tuesday’s win over Foley at home.

Bulldogs Shoot Down Falcons, 76 53

The Becker Bulldogs girls basketball team defeated the Foley Falcons, 76-53, in a Granite Ridge Conference game Tuesday night at home.  
 
The Bulldogs were led by Renee Tripp, who tallied 19 points. Eighth-grader Courtney Nuest added 14 points for the Bulldogs. 
 
Foley was led by Cassie Teff with 13 points.  Morgan Peschl did a nice job attacking the basket, contributing 11 points for the Falcons.  
 
“Renee attacked the basket well and was relentless on defense,” said Head Coach Dan Baird.  “Nuest secured many rebounds for the Bulldogs and did a great job hitting the mid range jumper.”  
 
Julia Bengtson scored 14 points also and dished out numerous assists.  
 
“Julia really controlled the middle of the court tonight,” said Baird.  “Claire Thorn did a great job as well playing with a lot of tenacity.  She scored 11 and was active on the boards.”  
 
After closing out the first half with a five-point lead at 36-31, Becker poured it on in the final 18 minutes, outscoring Foley 40-22 while showing their depth down the stretch. 
 
Foley ended their regular season with a 7-18 record.

The Section 5AAA playoffs will commence Tuesday with seeding taking place Saturday night.
