Bulldogs Go 1 3 To Move To A Record Of 4 12

 
The Becker baseball team went 1-3 this week with losses to Albany and Zimmerman and a win against Sauk Rapids.
 
Bulldogs 7, Storm 5
 
The Bulldogs built a six-run lead in the third inning last Friday at home, then held off Sauk Rapids-Rice's charge for a 7-5 victory. 
 
The Storm scored four runs in the failed comeback on a error in the fourth, a groundout by Tyler Hemker in the fourth, and a run in the sixth.
 
Becker  earned the victory despite allowing the Storm to score three runs in the fourth inning when Logan Donahue and Tyler Hemker drove in runs in the inning.
 
Cameron Fischer was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs, going six innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out four. Dalton Fouquette threw one inning in relief and recorded the last three outs to earn the save.
 
Cole Fuecker took the loss for the Storm. He allowed seven hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out three.
 
Alex Berglund, Dawson Hill, Noah Mohs, James Schafer, Jackson Thorn, Mitchell Louden and Ben Strot each collected one hit to lead Becker.
 
Thunder 6, Bulldogs 2
 
Zimmerman scored four runs in the fifth inning to coast to the win Monday night at home. 
 
The big inning was driven by a walk by Tim Gruis, a single by Ryan Mcmahon, and a sacrifice fly by Nolan Spence.
 
Sam Freeberg was the winning pitcher for the Thunder as he allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Jeg Schottenbauer threw two innings in relief.
 
Zach Wenner took the loss for Becker going four innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out four and walking one.
 
Louden went yard in the fourth inning.
 
Zimmerman collected eight hits.
 
Albany 7, Becker 0
 
Becker fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-0 shutout loss to Albany Thursday on Becker’s home field. 
 
Albany scored on a groundout by Aaron Christon in the first inning and a double by Isaac Nett in the second inning to go up 2-0.
 
Becker lost despite out-hitting Albany seven to six.
 
Adam Winkle captured the win for Albany giving up zero runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.
 
Fischer took the loss for Becker, allowing five hits and six runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
 
Mohs, Fouquette, Schafer, Louden, Ryan Groskreutz, Strot and Hill each managed one hit to lead Becker.
 
Nett went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Albany.

The Bulldogs host Mora Tuesday early (3 p.m.) then head to Foley that same night for a 5:30 p.m. game. Thursday, they head to Anoka to take on the Tornadoes.
