The Becker boys baseball had two games this past week, one on Friday at Hutchinson and one Tuesday at home against Milaca.
Becker 14, Milaca 2
The Bulldogs hosted Milaca in a Granite Ridge Conference game Tuesday and improved their record to 3-1 in the GRC with a 14 - 2 rout of the Wolves.
Kendal Hanson started on the mound for Becker and had a strong pitching performance. He went all five innings, giving up one earned run on just three hits.
The Bulldogs started quickly and poured it on as they tallied seven runs in the first inning, three more in the second, a lone run in the third and three more in the fourth.
Leading the 11 hit attack for the Bulldogs were Clayton Gallus, who was 3-for-4, Connor Rolf, who was 2-for-4 and John Mann. who was 2-for-3 with a double.

Last Friday, the Bulldogs traveled to Hutchinson and lost a tough fought, one-run battle in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Becker jumped into the lead in the top half of the first inning on a Cody Gruenhagen solo home run.
Hutchinson tied the game in their half of the inning.
Becker again took the lead in the third inning, scoring three times only to watch the Tigers respond and take the lead by scoring four runs of their own.
The Bulldogs scored the tying run in the top of the seventh only to lose the tie and the game in the bottom of the inning when Hutchinson tallied one.
Starting for Becker on the mound was Casey Vesledahl, who went 2-1/3 innings, giving up four earned runs on four hits. Andrew Stanger came on in relief and threw the final 4-2/3 innings, giving up one hit and one run while taking the loss.

Becker played Monticello Friday, then traveled to Alexandria Saturday to play Moorhead at 10:30 a.m., followed by a game at 12:30 p.m. against Alexandria (full report on games in next week’s Citizen-Tribune).
Tuesday, the boys come home for a conference game against Little Falls at 5 p.m. Thursday, they head up to Little Falls and Friday they head to Cambridge.
